Having a decorating blog is so much fun, but it’s especially fun at the change of the seasons. I love adding decorative touches, changing things here and there, and photographing my home for every season. If you are coming over from my friend Lynne from My Family Thyme blog, I’m so glad you are here! Thank you for stopping by!

If you are visiting my blog from another Summer Home Tour, welcome! My name is Cynthia & I live in Chicago , married & with 4 highly active four children. We bought our home in August 2018. It has been a slow progress to get it completely finish to what I would like to be but we keep going, one DIY at a time.

This is our main living room. We have done so much to this space. We added shiplap to the main wall. I wanted to add some character by adding an old mantel & a pair of old vintage windows that I picked up at a fleamarket up in Wisconsin. The man that sold them to me said that they came from an old 1800’s home.

Under each window are a pair of cabinets that I used to store books & other miscellaneous items for some added storage. You will notice they are not the same cabinets however. On the left side is an old antique dresser that I picked up while I was out thrift shopping. It was so hard to resist because it was only going for only $20. I know crazy. The other cabinet is a Threshold Target brand.
We love our Frame Tv that you see on this the photo above. It is the Frame Tv from Samsung. We bought it 2 years ago . Its so fun to play around with downloaded art. Each season I change what art will go on.

I love using flowers all year long personally. I love to create floral arrangements to display throughout our home.

The best part of Summer is stepping outside your home & clip some florals from our own backyard. Right?? I also added a Lavender tree to each side of the room. I found these amazing Lavender trees at Walmart. I saw them last year but I couldn’t resist this year.

Here is another Summer home decor accessory that can be used all throughout Summer, American Flags! Don’t you love to decorate with them in the Summer time? Its so easy & fun to just stick them literally anywhere in your home. I love to add American flags to my Summer floral arrangements.

If you love to decorate for the 4th of July, here are some ideas I decorated in the past in our home. You can see some photos & some ideas that I have gathered right here!.
I love this beautiful trellis area rug. I had seen it awhile back & I loved the added textured it adds to the living room.

I love our seating furniture for two reasons. One, its neutral, which makes adding any color pillow or pattern match so perfectly. The second is that everything is slipcovered! Having four kids is no joke hahahha. If you know you know!!!! The moment people come visit our home or find out we have four kids & white anything, their eyes are about to pop out.
I want to throw some humor so you can get through this blog post!!!! The 2 side chairs are from World Market. Our sofa & love seat are the Farlov collection from Ikea!!! I love Ikea anything. Do you enjoy shopping there?

Here is our Summer entryway. You can see more photos & read all the details. I love to add floral vintage botanical prints. They are so pretty & give that perfect vintage touch!

Lets not forget to decorate the bathroom!!! I love to clip greenery from outside & bring it indoors. Its free & adds just brings any space together. We just redid our bathroom. You won’t believe the before photos!!!!!!! We also redid our bathtub. It’s amazing how you can change the look with a tub & tile kit!

I love to switch out tablecloths each season. I also love to get creative and use throw blankets as tablecloth. I saw this light blue & white throw at target from Hearth and Hand. I thought it would make a perfect indoor or outdoor Tablecloth for any tablescape.

Hanging out in our patio is one of my favorite parts about Summer. We love to enjoy outdoor meals, hanging out with friends, & just sitting outdoors during Summer nights.

I love to add some vintage charm to any space. I added this antique wicker patio sofa. I think wicker patio furniture adds the perfect texture for any outdoor space.
